How it all begun

The story behind Mastolf and Mastej is shrouded in enigmatic allure, much like the duo themselves. As twins who also share a romantic connection, Mastolf and Mastej defy conventional labels and norms. Their journey began in a realm where they found themselves outsiders, deemed too different and dangerous by the spirits around them. Fleeing from this toxic environment, they sought refuge in a new realm, where they established their orphanage of sensory creatures. Clad in avant-garde fashion, with a penchant for pink, black, red, and animal print, they handcraft their creations with love and eccentricity. Each worm, emerging from unexpected places, carries with it a whisper of the night and a promise of strange comfort. Together, Mastolf and Mastej invite others to join them in embracing the weird and wonderful, celebrating their uniqueness as they redefine the boundaries of love, art, and identity.

The choice of pink, red, black, and animal print reflects Mastolf and Mastej's bold and unconventional aesthetic preferences. Each color and pattern holds its own symbolic significance and contributes to the overall vibe of their world:

  • Pink is often associated with femininity, romance, and playfulness. However, when combined with darker hues or used in unexpected ways, it can also convey edginess, rebellion, and a sense of irony. For Mastolf and Mastej, pink represents a subversion of traditional gender norms and an embrace of their own unique form of expression.

  • Red is a color of passion, intensity, and power. It can evoke feelings of desire, strength, and vitality. In the context of Mastolf and Mastej's world, red symbolises their fiery personalities, their deep emotional connections, and their unapologetic embrace of their desires and ambitions.

  • Black is often associated with mystery, sophistication, and elegance. It can also represent rebellion, darkness, and the unknown. For Mastolf and Mastej, black reflects their enigmatic nature, their penchant for the unconventional, and their willingness to explore the shadows and depths of their own identities.

  • Animal print is the fourth colour, not just a pattern. Bold and attention-grabbing, evoking a sense of wildness, fierceness, and primal energy. In Mastolf and Mastej's world, animal print signifies their connection to nature, their untamed spirit, and their willingness to embrace their primal instincts and desires whilst embracing the hun.

The names Mastolf and Mastej are unique and intriguing, much like the beings they represent.

Flotsam and Jetsam spelled backward results in Mastolf and Mastej. This clever wordplay adds an extra layer of intrigue to the identities of Mastolf and Mastej, tying them to the concept of discarded or abandoned objects (flotsam and jetsam) in a playful and unconventional manner. It's a fitting choice for beings who embrace their outsider identity and celebrate the weird and wonderful in their unique orphanage of sensory creatures.
